Technical Summary

SmartSolar MPPT solar charge controller with VE.Can interface. Rated charge current 70 A. Battery voltage 12/24/48 V auto select, with 36 V manual selection. Max PV open-circuit voltage 250 V absolute maximum, 245 V start-up and operating maximum. Nominal PV power: 1000 W at 12 V, 2000 W at 24 V, 3000 W at 36 V and 4000 W at 48 V. Maximum efficiency exceeds 99%. Operating temperature -30 to +60 °C. Protection category IP43 for electronic components and IP22 for connection area.

Installation Notes

PV voltage must exceed battery voltage by 5 V for start-up, then remain at least 1 V above battery voltage during operation. If more PV power is connected than specified, the controller limits input power. A PV array with higher short-circuit current than specified may damage the controller. The unit is for indoor, unconditioned environments. Tr model PV and battery terminals are 35 mm² / AWG2.

Efficiency

Maximum efficiency exceeds 99%. Ultra-fast MPPT is stated to improve energy harvest compared with PWM controllers and slower MPPT controllers. No cooling fan is fitted.
